. In a recent interview with Sports Seoul, Kim So Hyun discussed how she overcomes her lack of real dating experience in her romantic acting and more. Based on a webtoon of the same name, Kim So Hyun’s latest drama “Love Alarm” is set in an alternate reality where people find love through an application that alerts users when someone within a 10-meter radius has feelings for them. Kim So Hyun took on the role of Kim Jo Jo, a high schooler who is stuck in a love triangle between classmates Hwang Sun Oh played by Song Kang and Lee Hye Yeong played by Jung Ga Ram that is further complicated by the Love Alarm app. Despite her young age, Kim So Hyun is a seasoned actress with 12 years of experience. However, she previously revealed that she has never dated anyone before. She commented in her recent interview, “I think I still believe being in a relationship is very difficult. I also think that filming already consumes a lot of my emotions, so I don’t really feel a strong need to have one. If I meet someone I like enough to overcome all those factors, though, I think I’d start dating.” When asked if her lack of dating experience affects her immersion in her romantic acting, Kim So Hyun stated, “Because I don’t have experience, I find scenes where the characters break up or scenes that require deep emotions to be difficult. That’s why I try hard to feel exactly what my character feels in the drama, to the extent that I begin to think I have actual feelings for my co-stars. If I pretend, I think the full romantic effect isn’t achieved, so I work hard to approach it with the utmost sincerity.” She added, “I believe it’s also important to see how others act, so I watched a lot of movies. Rather than sad melodramas, I gravitate more towards light romantic comedies.” Kim So Hyun confessed that she did feel slight regret about not dating during her school days while filming “Love Alarm.” She said, “I thought the scene in which [Jo Jo] is wearing a uniform and walking with Sun Oh through the ginkgo trees was really pretty. I felt a bit regretful as I imagined how nice it would have been to wear my uniform and go on a date like that.” About her school days, she stated, “I had no interest in the opposite sex. There were a lot of people around me who were dating, but I didn’t really have that. It’s a shame I don’t have any memorable stories.” Finally, the actress mentioned her hopes for a possible second season of “Love Alarm.” She commented, “There are a lot of people who want to see the continuation of Sun Oh and Jo Jo’s relationship. I don’t know how the story will turn out, but I think it would be nice to take the good parts from the original webtoon and put them in season two. I’d like it if the relationship between Jo Jo and Hye Yeong were fleshed out, as I enjoyed seeing them share their pain and rely on each other.” At the question of whether she would reprise her role if a second season was made, Kim So Hyun said with a laugh, “If they don’t cut me out, I really want to appear in it.” Kim So Hyun’s next role will be in the upcoming drama “Tale of Nok-Du,” which premieres September 30 and will be available on Viki with English subtitles. On March 8, the Netflix series “Love Alarm 2” held an online press conference with director Kim Jin Woo and cast members Kim So Hyun and Song Kang. Jung Ga Ram, who is completing his mandatory military service, called in with a video message. Song Kang said, “We were able to do a second season because there was so much love for the first. If the first season was about the characters as students, then the second season shows them as adults and learning how to adjust to each other.” About his skyrocketing popularity, the actor said, “I was dazed by it. I realized how popular the show was when I received so many comments in different languages about the second season. I resolved that I should work harder from now on.” He added, “In the first season, Sun Oh had gotten hurt from a sudden farewell. In the second season, he’s become more mature and has more inner strength. If season one was about the fresh-faced youth of high school students, then season two is more mature. I think it’ll be fun to look forward to how the characters in season two resolve the conflicts from season one.” Kim So Hyun said, “I don’t think it ever felt easy to play Jo Jo. I thought a lot about how to express wavering feelings, but the director had a specific direction he wanted, so I trusted him and went with that. There have been times when I wanted to hide my feelings. I’ve often thought that it would be preferable to hide when I was feeling hurt. But [unlike Jo Jo], I want to be honest about my feelings.” She added, “I think that my choices made both Sun Oh and Hye Young suffer. Even if the Love Alarm’ app really existed, I don’t think I would download it. I’d express my feelings directly.” Song Kang added, “It’s nice to be able to express yourself easily, but I think it’s more sincere if you do it directly.” The actress also said that she had gotten more comfortable with the cast and crew and said, “It’s not even nerve-racking to be here [at the press conference]. It’s fun. We’re all peers and we like to joke around, so we got closer and felt a sense of comradeship during the shoot.” Kim Jin Woo, who had not directed the first season, joked, “I was uncomfortable during filming. Everyone was so good and working so well together and I was nervous and afraid that I wouldn’t be able to properly capture all that as a director. It was a lot of pressure to take on the second season. I thought of it as the actors having established such great characters in the first season, all that was left for me to do was follow what choices these characters would make. I think that’s what sets the second season apart.” “Love Alarm 2” will premiere on March 12. Check out a teaser here! Source 1 How does this article make you feel?
“Love Alarm” is gearing up for its highly-anticipated second season! Based on a popular webtoon of the same name, “Love Alarm” is a romance drama set in an alternate reality where people find love through an application that alerts users when someone within a 10-meter radius has feelings for them. The first season told the story of Kim Jo Jo Kim So Hyun, Hwang Sun Oh Song Kang, and Lee Hye Yeong Jung Ga Ram as they faced a world in which people can only express their love through the app. Season two begins four years later when the app has gained a new feature that provides a list of “people who you’ll like” and “people who’ll like you.” The new posters for season two depict the five main characters and their desires to know their true feelings for each other. Kim Jo Jo, who is unable to convey her feelings because of a feature that blocks others’ alarms from ringing, has the text, “I confessed for the first time,” raising questions about who she has feelings for. Lee Hye Young, who has no responses from the app, has the quote, “I don’t care even if that thing doesn’t ring,” hinting at his growing feelings for Kim Jo Jo. Hwang Sun Oh’s poster features the text, “I’ll only trust your eyes from now on,” revealing his feelings for Kim Jo Jo, who is trying to distance herself from him. The three posters preview a tense love triangle in the upcoming season. Park Gul Mi Go Min Si, who is trying to enter the Badge Club, looks surprised to hear the love alarm go off in an unexpected situation. Her quote asks, “Right now? Why? At what point?” Lee Yook Jo Kim Si Eun, who is dating Hwang Sun Oh but knows he still has feelings for Kim Jo Jo, has the quote, “I know that feeling. How do you win over that burning feeling…” Furthermore, the posters feature different wavelength forms depending on the character. Kim Jo Jo alone has a unique shape, while Hwang Sun Oh’s and Park Gul Mi’s alarms fluctuate. With Lee Hye Young’s and Lee Yook Jo’s alarms ringing out, viewers are curious to see how the five characters’ relationships will play out. The new season will continue to portray the deepening love triangle and the diverse shapes that love comes in, highlighting how the world has changed through the new alarm system. “Love Alarm” season 2 will premiere on March 12 via Netflix.
