🎣 Jet Hot Coating Vs Ceramic
Aero-engine is a key part of aircraft, the operating temperature of which is being pushed to unprecedented levels for higher engine efficiency and performance. To accomplish higher gas-inlet temperature of aero-engines, applying thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) on hot-section metallic components, or even replacing some of the metallic components in aero-engines with ceramic-matrix composites
Ceramic coatings can protect the vital parts of your vehicle and allow them to operate at optimal performance levels. Coating your exhaust system with a professional ceramic coatings, like the Classic Polish, 2k and 2500 offered by Jet-Hot, can boost engine performance and reliability by decreasing intake temps, under-hood temps, and increasing
Ceramic coating costs a similar amount depending on where you go, quality of work, and desired finish. A heat shield I can make for $20 or so out of a stainless bowl pretty easily and it'll work JUST as well as the $200 HKS part. My concerns are spool time, turbo longevity, cost, and radiant heat distribution throughout the engine compartment.

One thing to remember with ceramic coatings is when you do them you should fit them to the car quite quickly and run them to heat cycle them, this helps with the curing process.
3.2.2 High velocity flame spraying. High velocity oxygen fuel (HVOF) coating is a TS method where fuel and oxygen are mixed and then sent to a combustion chamber to be ignited. The expansion of the gaseous ignition produces a gas jet going into a divergent convergent nozzle. The gas jet is produced by the characteristics of shock diamonds and
It also inhibits corrosion, making metals last longer. Ceramic coated components resist most stains and are impervious to oil and fuel. In addition to adding life to your components, ceramic coating creates a thermal barrier, in some cases cutting radiant heat in half and reducing temperatures under the hood. And, the Winner is….
Ceramic coating is the only way to go. I have painted pipes on my LeMans and have to repaint them at least once a year. More if I ride in the rain as the boiling water takes the paint right off. My only experience is with Jet Hot, one of the first to do ceramic coating and the pipes were still good after 10 years when I sold the bike. Pete

The Ceramic job from Jet Hot lasted for ever and the one with the cerakote did not. (This could have been down to prep and the way it was applied)
Ceramic coatings cost around $50 and upwards, whereas paint sealants usually cost between $20-30. Ceramic coatings are even more expensive if you choose the most durable one that needs applying professionally. However, ceramic coatings last longer than paint sealants so can be seen as an investment.
